JAMMU, SEPT 5:
The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Friday issued fresh instructions regarding the reopening of schools and resumption of class work across the Jammu division. As per the latest order, all government and private schools will remain closed on September 6, 2025, while administrative and preparatory measures have been set in motion for the smooth resumption of academic activities.

The order, issued by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director School Education Jammu, is in continuation of an earlier office order dated May 3, 2025. It outlines a clear roadmap for reopening schools in a phased manner with emphasis on safety, security, and preparedness.

Talking to IMCSD Herald Editor-in-Chief, Vikas Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary said “we have issued instructions for the Heads of Institutions both government and private for resumption of classes after conducting a detailed safety and security audit of their respective school buildings to ensure preparedness before reopening”.

“Schools have been asked to ensure complete readiness to resume offline classes from September 10, 2025, after taking appropriate decisions based on their ground situation”, he added
Monitoring by CEOs:
Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of all districts will closely monitor the day-to-day activities during this transitional phase and submit detailed reports to the Directorate.
Compliance and Monitoring

The Directorate has stressed that all concerned officials must ensure timely compliance with the instructions in letter and spirit. Copies of the order have also been forwarded to the Secretary, School Education Department, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, and other senior officials for necessary action and monitoring.

Pertinently, the schools across Jammu division were closed earlier following adverse weather conditions and administrative concerns. The latest directive marks the first step towards restoring normal academic functioning with an emphasis on student safety and infrastructural readiness.

What’s Next?

If all schools complete their safety audits and readiness checks, offline classes are expected to resume from September 10, 2025. The Directorate has made it clear that any laxity in implementing these instructions will not be tolerated, as the education of students and their safety remain the top priorities.
